Last night someone threw a rock through one of our front windows. (Luckily it was a smaller window pane and it won't be too troublesome to replace.) We reported it and the officer taking our information told us that this kind of stuff is on the rise in Highland Park: broken windows, spray paint on cars, and other costly acts of "mischief" (as officially described by the police). I'm not sure that there is much that *we* can do to actually prevent this kind of thing. The kid -- assuming it was a young kid --who broke our window came out of nowhere and disappeared almost instantly. We rushed outside and talked to a couple people who were on the street at the time; they saw nothing. BUT I think that it's important that all of this be reported to the police so that they can identify any potential "hot spots" for patrols. --dan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dan J.
