Below please find information for national night out and other information I was able to get to share.Zinna To register for a National Night Out event: - Register on the city's NNO page here. DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS TUESDAY, JULY 27 - If you have a request for specific Public Safety bureaus to visit, please mention it in your registration - - Apply for a block party permit here. - If you have not used the Apply4 permitting system before, read the Getting Started document first, found here. - Be sure to note in the application that this is for National Night Out and the fee will be waved - - There might be other safety-related organizations you would like to invite to your event. I will share any I learn about with registrants as I find out about them. Currently, the Be SMART gun safety program is interested in setting up tables at NNO events. Please see the following information and contact Beth directly if you would like them to set up at your event: - From PGH Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and the Be SMART for Kids secure firearm storage campaign: At our Be SMART tabling events, we provide free cable gun locks and information on the importance of secure firearm storage to reduce suicides and prevent unintentional shootings. We always have fun crafts for kids to participate in as our volunteers have semi-private conversations with caregivers about the importance of secure firearm storage. And of course, candy. Plenty of candy. Be SMART is a non-partisan public health education campaign.
