Port Authority transit service for the first morning of the G-20 Summit went largely as planned.

Bus riders may have experienced some morning delays near the south entrance point at the Smithfield Street Bridge and the east entrance point by Mellon Arena due to circumstances beyond our control, namely motor vehicle congestion and media checkpoints.

Throughout the day, riders can expect detours around Phipps Conservatory in preparation for an official G-20 dinner and detours along the Parkway West as motorcades arrive from Pittsburgh International Airport. Service for the afternoon and evening commute is on track to proceed as planned, and commuters leaving Downtown can learn where to catch their bus by downloading our Downtown stop guide at http://www.portauthority.org/paac/apps/pdfs/G20/G20Summit.pdf.

Regardless, unanticipated events could arise that may require us to further reroute service during the course of the G-20 Summit.

Changes to transit service will be communicated through several channels:

-- Port Authority's Customer Service line, 412-442-2000 (TTY: 412-231-7007), which is operating on its regular weekday schedule, 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
