It is a shame that the pond looks so awful. Just so you all know, my Girl Scout Troop had a clean up day there in April. The girls pulled out 8 bags of trash and also about 4 bags of recyclables. We will have another clean up next spring. In the meantime, cleaning the pond (Lake Carnegie) would be a great community project for other youth groups. The location definitely needs more trash cans. Emails to the Mayor's service center seem to work better than calling 311. There is also a clearer record, and they do get back to you. I called and emailed many many times 2 years ago, and they did get a boat out and cleaned the pond a few times. There is a plan with the Parks Conservancy to redo the whole Lake Carnegie area, but I am not sure what the timeline is.
