Hello everybody! This week's class is so exciting! We will be: --planting flower, vegetable and herb seeds; --starting cuttings from an array of plants (definitely a couple succulents, and I'll do my best to bring some raspberry/blackberry canes and some apple twigs, too!) --learn some botany concerning seeds, germination, rooting, etc.; --learn how to use rooting hormones; --learn about light, heat, water and nutritional needs of new plants; --discuss germination rate and learn how to determine it for older seeds --get the answers to other questions you may have Soil, seeds and pots will be provided for seeds and small cuttings. If you want to do a whole bunch of anything and think you'll need larger pots, please bring your own, but LET ME KNOW so that I bring enough soil! Also, feel free to bring your own unique cuttings or seeds to share! If you want to plant entire trays, I will have some available FOR PURCHASE for $2.00-$5.00 each (depending on whether you also want solid undertrays, etc.) I will also have copies of 1-4 seed and/or nursery catalogs for you to take home. Class meets 6:30-8:30 pm Wednesday evenings and is $10/person (anyone on a fixed income or any type of assistance able to attend at no cost). Contact me for location. Thanks folks. Hope to hear from you! Rachel
