Below is the list of recommendations I got, but I've also attached an earlier list compiled on this network that one person also sent me.   There were a couple of self-references that I did not add to my list. He is mainly a plasterer, but he did the plastering and painting in two rooms for us last year or so.   4)   Paul and Kelly Daugherty (412) 362-9517 did a great job on the exterior of our house, and the interior of a friend's in the neighborhood.  They live over on Jackson and have done many houses in the area.  After we had a bad experience with another painter (Doug Dunn), the Daugherty's were a breeze to work with.   5)   I can recommend Tom Lehner as a good, responsible and very reasonably  priced painter. So far he has painted a bathroom, third floor landing  and hallway, garage trim and three doors for us. We have asked him to  paint our bedroom/dressing room  this fall. He is very reasonable and does a great job. His number is 412-362-0353.   10)    used Bernie Zurowski at (412) 621-6698.  He does beautiful work and is a pleasure to work with.   11)    Indoor/outdoor painting can be done with exceptional quality by colorist, Kenny Septak (412-661-2537).  I have work by him in my own house and he did a fabulous job of color-matching restoration to the water-damaged interior of our sanctuary at Eastminster Church.  Any questions, please get back to me.   12)   Manuel Ortiz does excellent work.  He has done several painting jobs for me (as well as other types of work) and is incredibly reasonable and treats the jobs as he would his own home.  He can also provide you with references.  His number is 412-735-6176.  Feel free to contact me if you need more information.   13)    I would heartily recommend Allen Lewis. I requested bids from three painters and Mr Lewis' figure was the middle of the three but I liked his manner immediately. He is a former art teacher and his care and skill are quite evident. He can also do handyman kinds of jobs and made new quarter-round molding for the baseboards in two of my rooms. He brought his wife along as a helper. She is also a teacher and they were both very pleasant to have in the house. They live in this part of town, too. His phone number is: 412-404-8862   14)    I used Tim Stavenger (see attached list), who underbids most other painters, is easy to deal with and reliable.  Does a decent job.  I recommend him.
