Christmastide, 2015 and 2016, at St. Andrew's Church: Services of the Holy Communion on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, include, at 4:30 p.m., a Family Service, with Blessing of the Creche, Children's Homily, and familiar hymns and carols; at 10:30 p.m. a Christmas Prelude, with Choir, Organ, Cello, and Harp, and, at 11 p.m., the traditional Midnight Choral Celebration. A service of the Holy Communion on Christmas Morning at 10 a.m. will be held in the Chapel, with a capella carols. On the First Sunday of Christmastide, December 27th, our services will be the Holy Communion at 9 a.m. in the Chapel and at 11 a.m. in the Church. The Rev. Dr. Philip Wainwright, Priest Associate of St. Andrew's Church, will preside and preach at both services. On the Second Sunday of Christmastide, January 3rd, our services will be the Holy Communion at 9 a.m. in the Chapel and at 11 a.m. in the Church. The Rector will preside and preach at both services. St. Andrew's Church School is on "Christmas Break" and will resume at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, January 10. Children are welcome at all services and age-appropriate "activity bags" are available in the Church Narthex. Nursery Care for infants and younger children is available during Sunday morning services. A reminder that on Thursday evening, December 31, New Year's Eve, Organist and Choirmaster Peter Luley will present "The Last Noel," a brief recital of French Organ Music for Christmas. A service of the Holy Communion will follow in the Chapel at 11:30 p.m., with Propers for the Feast of the Holy Name. At Midnight we will go up into the Tower and "Ring In" New Year 2016 on the Great Bell. A Champagne (or other festive non-alcoholic beverage) Toast will follow in Brooks Hall.
