In my email last weekend about the non-delivery of the Post Gazette on Sunday, I was able to get a replacement from someone on Hampton. I hear from quite a few people: Heberton, Farragut, Wellesley, etc. who had also not received a Sunday paper. Again today, sure enough, no delivery My husband telephoned the PG and was told that yes, they were aware of the Sunday example, but that the delivery person had quit and there was nothing they could do. Re: today's non-delivery, they said that the new person probably doesn't know the route yet. I would like to send some kind of petition to the PG to let them know how many people still value the "paper" paper. Perhaps it could take the form of just our street name and block or partial address. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to do this? It is really too bad that the PG publishes a paper now only on 3 days a week and maybe this is a further attempt for them to wean us off it and onto the electronic version, which I do not find satisfactory. As Brian O'Neil once wrote: you don't really feel certain that you have read the whole paper when you are done. Yes, of course, we all use Google and email, but I do like the paper paper. And it is still pretty expensive: $300 plus for the 3 day delivery and online access. Most of us grew up reading a daily paper and the print form existed for at least 200 years. I am sorry to see it go; to me it is kind of a basic right. Unfortunately, the one place where this issue will not be debated is, guess what...... the newspaper. Thanks for listening.
