Mike Gable, Deputy Director of City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works, said this week that the fountain basin should be refilled on Monday, July 10th. The basin floor needed to have its coating removed and replaced because it was flaking off and causing pumps, valves, & screens to clog. That's why the fountain has not been operating yet this year. The rain we had a few weeks ago prevented the contractor from redoing the fountain floor when expected--but that work has apparently been completed. Let's hope there are no further delays! Rudy
