Yesterday, our basement drain stopped up, and a bunch of water overflowed into the carpeted area of our basement. I've done a search of the list for recommended carpet cleaners, but most of the recs seem to be quite old. If anyone has any recommendations for a good cleaning service, or where to rent some high-powered carpet cleaning equipment (our little wet/dry vac is not enough!), I would really appreciate it. The area to be cleaned is not too big - maybe 15'x20' - and it doesn't smell like sewage (thank goodness), just like shampoo/dish soap/washing detergent. One company that was recommended was K&R carpet cleaning, but their minimum charge is $100 - I'm hoping to find something less than that. He has helped us out with emergency plumbing before, and he was also FANTASTIC yesterday with this drainage problem.
