Hi All, Someone asked that I share the recommendations that I received. Note that I have not contacted any of these yet.
Two from this email list: (1) We found Acorn stairlifts to be extremely reliable. They also send someone out to carefully evaluate the space where it will be installed. So I'd recommend them highly. (2) Hi I don't know if your friend lives alone but if she has someone to help her take a look at these https://www.mobility123.com/products/scalamobil/.
They don't attach to a staircase so they can be used on any stairs in or out of the house. We got one through the VA for my grandfather and have been using it for my mother since she had a stroke. It doesn't have to be permanently installed, which worked well for my parents.
