Good Afternoon Mr. Lipsky, As a Stanton Heights resident who lives a few doors up from the scene where three Pittsburgh Police Officers were fatally wounded, and the former Commander of Zone 5, it is with great sadness that I read your flippant and insensitive remarks regarding officers engaging in life-saving training not "celebrating or participating in shootouts." Actually on 4-4-2009 our officers were engaged in a shootout and unfortunately 3 officers lost their lives. As for the schedule, it was disseminated on the list serve about a week or two ago but in case it needs to be reposted our training schedule is as follows from 1600-2000 hours. In the past couple of weeks there have been several evening celebrations from our servers-and-protectors-in-training, though I have seen no notice or schedule listed here.
