[Highland Park] Free Tickets
The Emperor Concerto Complimentary tickets for members of the Highland Park Community and their guests! The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra would like to thank you for being valued residents of the City of Pittsburgh! Members of the Highland Park Community and their guests are eligible to receive up to FOUR (4) complimentary tickets to the 1:30 PM performance on Thursday, May 1, at Heinz Hall, Downtown. Anyone interested in tickets should email full name, mailing address, and email address to <pso@pittsburghsymphony.org> by 3pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Confirmation emails will be sent to confirm your request has been received and processed. If you request tickets, please be sure you and your guests attend the concert. All reserved tickets will be held under your last name at the Heinz Hall box office (corner of Penn and 6th) on Thursday one-hour prior to the concert. Tickets must be reserved in advance for this event and comps will not be available unless requested by emailing <pso@pittsburghsymphony.org> About the Concert: THU, MAY 1 at 1:30PM Heinz Hall Yan Pascal Tortelier, conductor Horacio GutiƩrrez, piano VAUGHAN WILLIAMS: Symphony No. 4 in F minor BEETHOVEN: Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Opus 73, "Emperor" Horacio GutiƩrrez performs the "Emperor" of piano concertos by Beethoven, which was featured in the scores of the movies Dead Poets Society and Immortal Beloved. Also, Principal Guest Conductor Tortelier conducts Vaughan Williams' passionate and turbulent Symphony No. 4. Learn more about the music! All Mellon Grand Classics concerts feature Preludes, a pre-concert talk one hour prior to performance that provides additional perspectives on the program. This concert's Prelude will be hosted by Resident Conductor Daniel Meyer.
