Neighbors, As you may or may not know, Pittsburgh has a thriving Mandolin Orchestra. We're having a festival this year and I wanted to invite you to the culminating concert! We will be joined by two other orchestras, one from Savona, Italy, one from Dayton, Ohio, and other players from the US, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and Japan. Here are the details: Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra Festival Concert March 19, 2011, 7:30pm The Pittsburgh School for the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) 111 9th Street Pittsburgh, PA 15222 This festival will feature the 20 person Orchestra Dell' Accademe Internationale di Mandolino from Savona, Italy - directed by Carlo Aonzo, the world renowned mandolin virtuoso. They will be joined in concert by the Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra, and the Dayton Mandolin Orchestra from Dayton, Ohio. This will bring over 80 mandolin players to the stage for the first time ever in Pittsburgh in a program of Italian, International and American Folk and Classical music.
