Attached you will find your Zone 5 Community Crime Update for the week of August 17th-23rd. I am happy to report that our Theft from Vehicles are down 50% from last week. As you will see in the weekly reports, we did have (2) Aggravated Assaults and (1) Homicide this week, which is very unfortunate. However, in all (3) of those cases we have either made an arrest or there is a warrant out for the suspect. Additionally, during the past week, our officers also had the chance to attend a number of community events, including a community appreciation day at Brightside Elementary School in East Liberty, the Stanton Heights community festival, the back-to-school bookbag giveaway event at Destiny Ministries in Lincoln-Lemington, and the "A-to-Z Safety Day" at the Pittsburgh Zoo. We also hosted an ice cream event at the Oh! Yogurt store on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield and attended our weekly "Coffee with the Cops" event at McDonald's in East Liberty. Some photos from this week's events are attached. Have a safe week, Jason -- Cmdr.
