Brief stoppages for equipment mobilization may also occur on northbound Route 28. Crews will be installing overhead sign structures at the former Millvale Industrial Park and at the Millvale interchange.**** ** ** Southbound traffic will be required to exit at the Millvale off-ramp traveling under Route 28 to the on-ramp to the 40th Street Bridge. Traffic will cross the 40th Street Bridge to Butler Street to Penn Avenue to the 16 th Street Bridge.**** ** ** Traffic on the 40th Street Bridge will not be able to access southbound Route 28; access to northbound Route 28 and Millvale will remain open. **** ** ** Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and allow extra time when traveling through the area. **** ** ** The $23.5 million Route 28 East Ohio Street Improvement Project 40th Street Bridge work includes widening and reconstruction, drainage, concrete barrier, concrete curb and sidewalk, highway lighting, signing and pavement marking, sign structures, signals and ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) installation, wall construction, water line and sewer relocation, demolition, and other construction from about 1,300 feet north of the 31st Street Bridge (Route 2122) intersection to approximately 2,560 feet north of the 40th Street Bridge (Route 2124) interchange.
