Dear Highland Park Friends & Neighbors, This summer numerous area churches are conducting 8 Blitz Builds (think Extreme Home Makeover) to rehab houses in the East Liberty area. A combination of grant money, church money and home mortgages are making the dream of owning a home a reality for families who might not otherwise be able to make the move to home ownership. Houses have already been completed at 624 Collins St., 5807 Hays St., and today 520 North Fairmount is under construction. Please stop by and visit. Recently, a new family and home was approved for rehab beginning next Tuesday, June 26th. The project will run from Tuesday through Saturday. If things go well, the family can actually move in on Saturday evening!
