[Highland Park] Last call - worm composting this Saturday
Last call - feel free to show up even if you don't get a chance to RSVP. Thanks! Last year I sent out an email offering to help people set up a worm composting bin. I was completely overwhelmed with the number of responses, but I'm ready to try again. Worm composting is a great way to get rid of small amount of kichen scraps, and is generally really cool. Worm castings make excellent quality compost for your garden. If you are interested in starting a worm composting bin, I will be at the Garfield Farms garden Saturday April 17th at 9am. The garden is located on the corner of Wicklow St and Cornwall St in Garfield Heights. You will need to bring the following items with you: A bin that you will keep the worms in. My bin is fairly large - 2x2x3. I would suggest a minimum size of 1x1x2 - Long base and shallow depth is better. You will want it to have a lid as well. Newspaper (I will have extra, so don't buy it if you don't already have some) Kitchen gloves (optional - you will be touching worms and their castings/fertilizer). Donations for the farm are also welcome. I will demonstrate how to set up your own bin and what has and has not worked for me over the 2+ years I've had it. You will leave with a fully functional worm bin. Please let me know if you are interested in attending, so I have an idea of how many people to expect. Feel free to contact me with any questions. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail & Messenger. Get them on your phone now. http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9724463
