Kevin Stevens was on top of the world -- a 2 time Stanley Cup Champion, a Celebrity Athlete, and a NHL Record Holder. On an impulse decision, at the age of 28, he decided to try cocaine for the first time in the bathroom of a New York City nightclub. His life changed forever. Kevin spent the next several years battling addiction and losing his grip on what should have been a hall of fame career. High profile arrests, trouble on the ice and everything else that comes with addiction led Kevin down a dark path he never could have imagined traveling.
But if there was one thing that hockey and his upbringing taught him, it was to fight back! Determined not to give up, Kevin got sober and stayed sober! He relied on family, newfound relationships and a network in recovery to not just maintain sobriety, but to help others find recovery as well.
From his passion to help others, he has dedicated his life to spreading the message of hope and changing the stigma of addiction. Everyone loves a comeback story and Kevin loves helping people live them.
