In Search of Language Classes, Tutoring and/or Conversation Partners/Groups
Hi There, I believe I saw an advertisement for French classes before on the listserv and can't seem to find the original email. I'd be interested in language classes in any of the following languages: French- I'm at an intermediate level, can get around and do daily life stuff (order stuff, get on the right bus, exchange pleasantries) have a pretty decent vocabulary, and can make myself generally understood, but I struggle with understanding, complicated long chunks of dialogue thrown at me (my speaking seems to be better than my listening), also I understand most of the grammar and tenses, but struggle to consistently apply them in conversation Spanish- beginner/high beginner, better listening than speaking (weirdly), lean on french a lot for vocab which doesn't always serve me Dutch- high beginner, slow at speaking because of the different syntax patterns Arabic- beginner, remember a handful of phrases I'm most interested in conversation and authentic task/practice type classes. I'm good at learning on my own, and reading comes easily. I don't have a strong need or desire to write in any of these languages. I'd like to work with an experienced language teacher who lesson plans and is familiar with project-based and authentic task-based language learning (obviously willing to pay for this), OR I'd consider meeting up with folks to practice and mutually support each other's language needs/wants OR I'd consider a trade with a native speaker in exchange for any English language supports they need (I have over a decade's experience teaching English in both academic and community settings, in the US and abroad). If anyone has any leads, please reach out! Thanks/Merci/Gracias/Bedankt/Shukran, Sara
