You Input Wanted on the Future of Enright Park In East Liberty Before March 22nd
Hello Neighbors, In a fairly complicated situation, the Mayor has proposed ceding Enright Park in East Liberty to a private real estate development company. There has been a vigorous discussion in the community over the future of the park, but - as we have seen with Schenley High School and the former Reizenstein School site - once public property has been sold to a private developer it is removed from public use forever. The private development company also owns the former Babyland site where they have proposed putting an Autozone with a design that dramatically breaks with the zoning and design guidelines established for the area. I encourage you to provide your input by phone, online or at the public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, 3/22 at 1:30. You can contact Councilwoman Deb Gross at her District 7 office (412-255-2140). You can also find the public hearing sign up form at: http://pittsburghpa.gov/cityclerk/schedule The hearing is over whether the property should be rezoned, which would be the first step in the process of removing this public space.
