[Highland Park] participate in a research study on 'brain games'?
Dear neighbors: I'm contacting you to see if you might be interested in participating in an academic study, funded by the National Institute of Aging, and run out of Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Social and Decision Sciences. The study investigates whether brain games can help maintain cognitive function in older adults. We are looking for healthy volunteers age 55-80. If you participate, you will be given six weeks of access to computer games designed by neuroscientists. The games are played on your home computer, and you may play as many or as few games as you wish during the six-week period. There are also three visits to Carnegie Mellon for cognitive testing and a game practice session. You must have a home computer with Internet access to participate. If you complete all three visits, you will receive $50, one free year of the games, and reimbursement for parking or public transportation. For more information, please e-mail mindmuscle2010@gmail.com This study is a great opportunity to try out brain exercises, help to advance science, earn money, and have fun! This study is only accepting participants for one more month, so don't miss it! Many thanks, George Loewenstein
