Hi - Like most HSing moms, I'm always looking for opportunities for HSed kids to connect with each other through fun and healthy activities that challenge their minds, expand their skills, and nurture their spirits. This is why, for the last year, I've been developing an online service, called the Homeschoolers Society (HSS), that offers kids opportunities to interact with each other and to talk with people doing remarkable things in the world. HSS is now fully up and running and accepting members.

In August, HSS will will be offering 15 events--something for HSers of all ages. Especially notable events include: weekly show-&-tells, an interview about raising chickens in the city (interviewer is a HSer), opportunities for kids to chats with peers, a presentation on worm composting w/ Q-A by a soil biologist, storytimes about kind siblings and scary watermelons, and a real (offline) group visit to a bank. Membership is just $10/month per family, and people can cancel their subscription at any time.
