We were burglarized in the 1300 block of Heberton St. yesterday as well - very similar to Kelly's situation on Callowhill - they jimmied open the kitchen window and crawled through. They also took a file of important documents, including a soc card, which is, of course, an identity theft concern. The police were unsuccessful in lifting any prints, so although we think they may have been kids (by what they took as well as what they didn't!), they knew enough to cover themselves. We have a dog who usually barks loudly at anyone even walking by the house - although she wouldn't hurt a fly, we thought she'd be a deterrent - the thiefs either were familiar with her, or are pretty fearless (as evidenced by the daylight break-ins!).
