[Highland Park] Tutor Recommendation
I would also like to highly recommend Brad. I met him via my year as a PULSE fellow (as he was one of the original PULSErs) and was able to work with him in the tutoring field during PULSE and after with the after school program he coordinated. He is not only extremely knowledgeable in a variety of subjects but also very patient and great at explaining complex ideas - I know I often went to him when I was tutoring and couldn't figure out how to explain something to the student I was working with - which is great in a tutor. Again, I highly recommend him. Have a great Tuesday neighbors! He is tutoring my 16 year old in Math and she says, "I learned more in that first hour session with Brad than I have ever learned in Algebra!" I was shocked and excited and needless to say... we are continuing with lessons every week. I highly recommend him. See his blurb below. Take care everyone, Taryn * Hi--I'm Brad Yoder, and I'm looking for private tutoring work, in math (through Pre-Calculus), languages (German or French), and any general homework help (English writing or grammar, content-based classes such as history, social studies, etc.) I spent over 15 years coordinating an after-school tutoring program for a local non-profit, and also 11 summers teaching foreign languages in summer immersion programs, in Minnesota and Vermont. I have experience working in a variety of subjects, and with students of all different ages, abilities, and learning styles. I believe strongly that every learner has the potential to be successful, in any subject! I'm also a working musician, and have given lessons and workshops in acoustic guitar, saxophone, improvisation (for winds or strings), music theory, and songwriting. Hourly rates are flexible, with a reduced rate for a first lesson or study session. Feel free to contact me at *brad@bradyoder.com*, or 412.443.8439. -- Alicia M. R. I can add my recommendation for Brad. I worked with him as co-coordinator of the tutoring program he ran for 8 years. Brad is a problem solver and loves the puzzle of finding ways to help a students think for themselves. He's helped many young people and their families find the best magnet school, or placed into private schools (including fundraising for them and helping them with their applications). He's an advocate and a highly compassionate instructor. Your child will be in very good hands! Just my two cents...
