[Highland Park] Cookie Booth Sales
Hello neighbors! Girl Scout troops in the Pittsburgh East area of the Trillium Girl Scout Council will be holding cookie booth sales this weekend (March 1 & 2) and the next (March 8 & 9) at area businesses and grocery stores. If you missed out on the recent orders taken by individual scouts (or if you just can't get enough of those Thin Mints!), these two weekends are the time to get your Girl Scout cookies while they last and to help support our local Girl Scout troops. I am the co-leader of Brownie Troop 103 at the Falk School at the University of Pittsburgh, and our troop includes girls from Highland Park. We are holding our booth sale at the Color Me Mine pottery studio on Forbes Avenue in Squirrel Hill on Saturday, March 1 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Our Brownies plan to use the money that they are raising to buy an American flag for our troop flag ceremonies, to pay for a field trip to earn a Brownie Try-it Badge, and to hold an end-of-year party. Stop by Color Me Mine to buy some cookies for yourself OR for our Girl Scout council to send to military personnel in Iraq. Our Brownie troop benefits from the sale of cookies for the military troops, who benefit from your gift of a taste of home! And look out for other Girl Scout troops' booth sales when you are out shopping in the East End this weekend! Julie Gammill Gibson --------------------------------- Never miss a thing.
