Criminal Justice forum for the senate candidates of PA Senate District 38
Hello neighbors, The ACLU, Pennsylvania Interfaith Impact Network, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations Pennsylvania are hosting a criminal justice forum for the senate candidates of PA Senate District 38 on *Friday, September 21st, 7:00-8:30pm at the Kingsley Center.* The candidates from both parties have been invited to participate. This is an opportunity to learn how each candidate will vote on issues that impact our lives! There are more than 47,000 people incarcerated in our state, and a daily average of 2,300 in Allegheny County jails. In 2015, 81% of these people were in jail *pre-trial.* This is unjust and we do not have to allow the practices that produce these situations to continue if we elect people with smart approaches to criminal justice reform! *What: *Forum on criminal justice reform for the PA senate candidate of PA SD 38 *When: *Friday, September 21st, 7:00-8:30pm *Where: *Kingsley Center, 6435 Frankstown Rd (corner of East Liberty and Frankstown) This event is *FREE, *non-partisan, and open to the public -- Erin Marie Williams-Hatala, Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Biology Chatham University Pittsburgh, PA
