Reports to: Community LEARNS Site Coordinator Position Type: Part-time, hourly wage; Must be available 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM Mondays – Fridays plus some Saturdays 9 AM – 3 PM Duties/Responsibilities Provide program services to participants and their families: • Assist with the overall planning and implementation of the daily afterschool and Saturday programming as per the Community LEARNS funded program model • Coordinate academic and recreational programming • Supervise academic and support staff at program sites • Develop relationships with teachers/counselors to track school attendance, performance, and behavior • Develop relationships with parent(s)/Guardian(s) through calls and home visits • Track daily Community LEARNS attendance, progress on academic software, and participation in tutoring • Intervening when issues arise with attendance, performance and/or behavior • Maintain sign-in logs and participant files with all required paperwork/information and/or signatures • Transport participants to/from program sites and field trips utilizing program van • Coordinate food program • Monitor and facilitate use of educational software packages (training provided) and tutoring services • Assist with the planning and coordination of social and recreational activities • Assist in coordinating special events and field trips • Assist with participant recruitment when needed Collaborate with partner organizations: • Interact with the collaborative group of community and faith agencies • Daily communication with partner High School teachers, counselors and administrators Develop and increase professional skills: • Attend professional development trainings • Attend training sessions on technology utilized Job Requirements • Capacity to case manage urban youth, past experience preferred • Strong supervision skills • Strong communication skills • Computer skills and a background in technology preferred • Demonstrated capacity to collaborate with other professionals and multiple agencies • Valid PA driver's license and proof of car insurance, willingness to drive 15-passenger van • Must have Act 33, Act 34 and FBI clearances or the ability to obtain the clearances on a yearly basis ______________________________________________________________________________ [cid:X.MA1.1325276214@aol.com] $12 to $15 per Hour Tutoring Positions with 9th-12th Grade Students Afterschool Programs Status: Part time, 10-15 hours per week, flexible Compensation: $12 -$15/hour Neighborhood Learning Alliance is looking for dynamic individuals who are interested in tutoring 9th – 12th grade youth who are voluntarily participating in the Community LEARNS afterschool program. Duties include math and literacy tutoring and homework help. Training is provided. Tutoring is offered to students between 3:00 PM and 6:00PM, Monday through Friday and some Saturdays. Under the Neighborhood Learning Alliance model, community and faith organizations collaborate with each other and with their neighborhood schools to deliver traditional and technology supported afterschool curricula that is aligned with state and Pittsburgh Public School standards. Ideal Candidates for all positions will: • Be content area experts • Have a history of teaching/tutoring • Want to work with urban children to help them realize their potential, raise their GPA and increase their math and literacy standardized test scores • Have previous experience leading groups • Have some experience preparing and delivering academic lessons, preferred Requirements for all positions: • Childline, State Police and FBI Clearances (or ability to obtain them) • Participation in continuous professional development opportunities, some of which fall on evenings or weekends, throughout the year _________________________________________________________________________ Title: Training Coordinator Reports to: Executive Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employment Status: Full-time Rev: 3/2011 Job Summary This staff person will be responsible for ensuring that the Neighborhood Learning Alliance training team works together to offer professional development to partnering organizations that is structured, high quality, and pertinent. This may require the Professional Development Specialist, among other duties, to monitor members’ afterschool programs, provide group and shoulder to shoulder trainings, ensure professional development outcomes are being accomplished, develop new professional development series, and assist other trainers in the implementation and development of new training components. Duties/Responsibilities 1. Monitors afterschool programs as assigned 2. Design pertinent training series 3. Supervises training consultants 4. Develop weekly and monthly training schedule 5. Market trainings to partner organizations 6. Recruit training attendees 7. Track all recruitment and training participation data. 8. Develop all program and funder reports 9. Attend Neighborhood Learning Alliance Staff Meetings monthly 10. Perform any and all other duties assigned for which the employee is qualified and physically able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.
