The Sunday before the Thanksgiving holiday is the day we set aside each year to observe the Feast of St. Andrew, the "Patron Saint" of our Highland Park parish, and through the neighborhood on that morning is heard each year the rousing strains of bagpipe and drum, as provided by our special guests, the Syria Highlanders Pipe and Drum Band. That's this Sunday, November 19. Weather permitting, the Highlanders will play in the St. Andrew's Churchyard, on Hampton Street between North St. Clair and North Euclid, beginning around 10:40 a.m. They'll play during the 11 a.m. service, and then again out in the Churchyard for a few minutes at around noon.
