Hello, was wondering if anyone has any experience with assisted living facilities  in the neighborhood and surrounding areas.  This is for an elder with a mild cognitive impairment. We are looking for a small, apartment like setting that costs less than 4,000 per month.  We were hoping someone would know of a facility that is NOT one of the for profit facilities that pop up during a google search. We're also looking to see if a  neighbor may have experience with NOT putting an elder in this type of facility and instead attempting to set up at home care.  The elder we are researching new living arrangements for has short term memory issues, and a disability regarding making new memories.
