Weathertech floor mats
Thanks to all 30-some people who replied to my query about floor mats. Overwhelmingly, Weathertech floor mats are popular. I decided to read reviews online and I am curious to know how recently everyone bought theirs. This is important because the reviews of Weathertech were, in a word, awful. The site is "sitejabber" and there were 297 reviews; a few were positive. All sounded legitimate I disregarded the reviews about cup holders, and other products and concentrated on floor mats. (One of my concerns was how easy are they to remove for hosing off. I was picturing that they wrapped over the hump between the 2 front seats. How could they be removed if you had to lift them from both sides? Then we looked and realized that the "hump" as it was, is no longer. Instead, our hump contains the gear shift, SO, no hump to lift the floor mat past. Instead, there are 2 floor mats--one for the driver's floor and one for the passenger side. So they should lift out easily for cleaning. The reviews can be summarized as follows: 1. They used to be rubber and are now some sort of plastic. 2. They curl up at the edges and so don't fit snugly and dirt can get under and around them. 3. The laser measuring isn't giving a good fit. 4. When you try to clean them they don't get clean even with scrubbing with a brush. 5. When they dry, they look awful (there were photos). 6. The call-takers are surly, rude, and unhelpful. 7. It costs some $50 to return things. So, what to do? Some of you were kind enough to send photos and we even went to see someone's mats this morning. As I said, everyone here seems to love them. But the reviews did sound legitimate. Quite a few are from 2023 so maybe there has been a change from when you bought yours. I couldn't find reviews on the Weathertech site but there are sites that mention Weathertech. We are torn. But we appreciate all your messages and will let you know if we get some. Thanks so much.
