I Made It! Market, the city’s nomadic indie craft marketplace announces two pop-up marketplaces just in time for Valentine’s Day. Thirty local artists will pop into the William Pitt Ballroom at the University of Pittsburgh from 11:30 am – 3:30 pm on Friday, February 11. And, fifty regional artists will move into the Glass Lofts on Penn Avenue in Friendship from 12 – 5 pm on Saturday, February 12. The I Made It! Market creates events with a two-fold mission in mind. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness for non-profit, arts and community groups AND to provide the opportunity for regional craftspeople to establish small businesses. On February 11th, The Original, an arts and culture magazine and non-profit produced on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus will hold a raffle of artists’ wares with all proceeds benefiting The Original. And, on February 12th, a donation will be made to the Friendship Development Association and visitors will be able to donate to a fund dedicated to an IMI artist’s father’s lung transplant fund. IMI believes everyone can open their hearts this Valentine’s Day and help support others in the community! Visitors to the I Made It! Market will find a variety of handcrafted goods including natural bath and body products, greeting cards, clothing, costumes, letterpress artwork, photography, house wares, woodwork, handbags, jewelry, ceramics, children’s items and so much more.
