Church staff reported that a lock hard been cut off of the front door and the interior of the building had been ransacked. Nothing appeared to be missing. The church had not been used since February 24th, so it is unclear when the burglary occurred. (45502) *Larimer / Lincoln-Lemington* *3/3/19 Theft from Vehicle - 100 block Mayflower Street, 5:43 AM.* Victim was reviewing her home security camera footage and saw an unknown male enter her car at 5:43 AM, rummage through the vehicle, then walk away. Nothing appeared to be missing. No forced entry into the vehicle. (42239) *Bloomfield / Garfield / Friendship* *3/5/19 Theft from Vehicle - 300 block Stratford Avenue. *Victim is a paramedic who reported that a bullet proof vest he wears at work was stolen from his vehicle overnight. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle. (42289) *East Liberty / Highland Park* *3/4/19 Burglary - 5800 block Centre Avenue.* Victim reported that while he was away on vacation, someone broke into his warehouse and stole a safe. No signs of forced entry. It is possible that a former employee may have used a key to gain entry. (41597) *3/8/19 Theft from Vehicle - Penn Avenue & N. Negley Avenue.* Victim reported that she was parked in East Liberty the previous day when someone stole her wallet from her unlocked vehicle. (44850) *3/9/19 Stolen Vehicle - 500 block N. Negley Avenue, 5:00 AM. *Victim reported that at approximately 1:30 AM, he went to an address in the 400 block of N. Negley Avenue with a female he knows only as "Tamika," to have a few adult beverages. The victim reported that he passed out after having a few drinks. When the victim woke-up at 5:00 AM, his wallet and keys were missing... and so was "Tamika." When the victim went outside, he found that his 2008 black Pontiac G8 (PA plate JSP-5817) had been stolen. (44755) *3/10/19 Graffiti Vandalism - East Liberty. *Over the weekend, we were made aware of an individual who was observed by several residents and business owners walking around the East Liberty area, spray painting businesses, garage doors, even a church. Vigilant citizens were able to obtain a clear photograph of the suspect and forwarded it to police. Several of our officers immediately recognized the male as *Trevon Kinnon, 24, of the Northside.* Detective Alphonso Sloan of the Graffiti Task Force has taken over the case and will be obtaining an arrest warrant for Kinnon. *Thank you to our alert residents for the assist on this one! *(It should be noted that the graffiti made reference to Ivanka Trump. It is possible that there may be additional damage that has not yet been discovered. If you find graffiti, especially related to this case, please call 911 to make a report.) *Morningside / Stanton Heights / Waterworks* *3/9/19 Aggravated Assault / False Imprisonment - 1100 block Jancey Street, 1:30 AM.* A 49 year-old male victim reported that he was walking home from St. Raphael's Church when a black vehicle pulled alongside of him and a known male inside the vehicle threatened him. Moments later, the vehicle stopped and several white males exited. They surrounded the victim and prevented him from leaving. The males then assaulted the victim, punching him and knocking him to the ground. The suspects then fled the scene. The victim was later found to have a fractured rib. The suspects were identified as *Russell Charles "Rusty" Little, 20, Jordan Anthony Zottola, 18,* and two other males who have not yet been identified. Officers will obtain arrest warrants for Little and Zottola as well as the other males, once they are identified. (44669) Crimes listed in the above report include: Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Burglary, Arson, Stolen Cars, Thefts from Vehicle, and Overdoses. *We do not list information for car accidents, retail theft, harassment, minor assaults, etc. * *This Week's Notable Arrests* *3/8/19 1:09 PM Pearl Street & Rosina Way Arrestee 1: Robert Lewis Kemp, 42, Homeless Arrestee 2: Valene Reed, 37, Homeless Summary:* Detective Matt Tracy of the Mobile Crime Unit was in the Bloomfield area working on a robbery case, when he received an alert that a stolen Toyota 4-Runner that was possibly connected to the robbery was traveling over the Bloomfield Bridge. Det. Tracy quickly made his way towards the bridge and saw the vehicle in question traveling on Howley Street. Det. Tracy followed the vehicle while awaiting additional back-up units. The vehicle appeared to park at the intersection of Pearl Street & Rosina Way, at which time Det. Tracy exited his police car and approached the occupants, ordering the driver to turn off the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Robert Lewis Kemp, immediately pulled off and fled the scene in the vehicle. Near the intersection of Liberty Avenue & Pearl Street, Kemp nearly struck a pedestrian and threw a firearm out the window as he continue to flee. Because of the danger presented to the public, the pursuit was terminated. Moments later, the Toyota was found wrecked into a parked car in the 4000 block of Howley Street. A female passenger, identified as Valene Reed, was still in the vehicle. Reed was detained and a gun was recovered from the vehicle. Officers from Zones 2, 4, and 5 quickly converged on the area and established a perimeter. A K-9 team was called to the scene and began a thorough search of the area. Kemp was eventually found hiding in the basement of a home in the 4000 block of Woolslayer Way and was taken into custody without further incident. The gun originally discarded during the pursuit was recovered by backup units. Both firearms were found to be BB guns. Kemp was charged with Fleeing & Eluding, Receiving Stolen Property, Tampering with Evidence, Criminal Trespass, and Hit & Run. Reed was charged with Tampering with Evidence. Both Kemp and Reed were also wanted on outstanding bench warrants. The original robbery remains under investigation.
