[Highland Park] Baby Promis Early Learner Tech Program
Baby Promise is an interactive literacy program that connects families who may have limited access to technology in their homes in the East End of Pittsburgh, with educational resources that empower them to guide and enhance their child's, literacy development. This program will expose children 0-6 years old, to websites and applications including the IPad and similar touch-screen capabilities and digital manipulatives, which can better prepare them for educational opportunities they might otherwise not get exposed to due to lack of personal, community and school resources. The Kingsley Center is conducting a summer program for early learners at The Kingsley Center, located at the corner of Frankstown Avenue and East Liberty Blvd. The program is funded in part by The Sprout Fund and is exposing early-learners (0-6 yrs old), to technology-based learning using Tablet computers, digital manipulatives, books, ibooks, internet-based readers ,etc. Parents can enroll by calling 412-661-8751 161 (Denise Hill). The program runs Tuesd-Thursday 8:30am-12:30pm and goes until August 19th. Dave Atkinson westpennworks@gmail.com
