Tree Pittsburgh's Ginkgo Fest
Good morning, neighbors! Tree Pittsburgh invites you to celebrate the fall season with us as the ginkgo leaves change to their vibrant yellow hue across Highland Park. Have a picnic, enjoy the park, and learn about the natural and cultural histories of this wonderful tree with fan-shaped leaves at this family-fun event. We will have some plants grown in our Heritage Nursery for sale, as well as merchandise from Tree Pittsburgh. Join us Saturday, October 29 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Maple Grove Shelter next to the super playground in Highland Park! This free event is all ages and family-friendly. Check out last year's event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgYxpD2__Mw The festival will feature crafts and origami activities, children story time, tree ID walks, and photos in front of Pittsburgh's largest ginkgo tree. Ginkgo trees are renowned for their medicinal properties, their outstanding urban tolerance, and their beautiful fall color. The ginkgo tree species dates back to over 150 million years.
