A quick note--that St. Andrew's and all of us here in the Highland Park neighborhood (and other East End neighborhoods) are included in the Water Precautions Advisory issued by the Water and Sewer Authority on Tuesday afternoon. Routine testing at the Highland Park Reservoir indicated yesterday that chlorine levels had fallen below the levels indicated in EPA water purification regulatory standards. Although no bacterial impurities have been detected in the water supply, affected water customers are advised until further notice to flush their water systems and boil water for use for drinking, brushing teeth, and washing dishes. New purification equipment is being installed at the reservoir, and it is expected that the Advisory will remain in place until the system is restored--probably by the weekend. In the meantime here at St. Andrew's we've covered drinking fountains and placed notices in restrooms. Those participating in any neighborhood or community meetings at St. Andrew's this week are advised to bring bottled drinking water. Bottled water will be used in preparation for the reception following this Thursday evening's service of Choral Evensong. Bruce Robison, Rector St. Andrew's Church, Highland Park _________
