[Highland Park] more vandalism on N. Euclid
I'm writing on behalf of my neighbors here on N. Euclid, near Wellesley. Their yard was vandalized Friday in the early evening--LOTS of broken flower pots and stolen Halloween decorations. This is the third time in recent weeks that this family has had items from their porch/yard stolen or smashed. My neighbors reported this latest incident to the police and urge others to do the same. The officer told said they absolutely don't mind coming out for these calls. Or, if you like, you can always call the police and tell them you just want the incident on-record; an officer doesn't necessarily have to come out. To echo an earlier post: Folks, it's really important to report this stuff - even minor stuff. We can't expect them to increase police presence if they don't know how bad the problem is. Many thanks, Elaine Vitone
We had flower pots broken in front of our house last night, around 9pm. It turns out they were a few neighbors flower pots, but we did call 911. We live on N Euclid at the end of Wayne Road. David

About 7.45p this evening, a couple of kids -- 10 to 12 years old -- attempted to steal a pumpkin from our front steps. The neighbor across the street happened to be standing at his front window and saw it occurring. He tapped on the window, the kids dropped the pumpkin, ran down Jackson Street and then down Heberton toward Stanton. These idiots match the description of the kids who, several nights ago, threw a rock through a window of another neighbor. The level of "criminal mischief" in Highland Park is bordering on an epidemic. We reported it, for what it's worth.
