HP house concert, Gráinne Hunt, April 25
[image: Grainne outside.jpg] ‘A natural performer, Gráinne Hunt commands an astounding voice that will melt your heart. No crowd can resist.’ Declan O’Rourke Songwriter, Author We are thrilled to host Gráinne Hunt for a concert in our home on *April 25, Thursday*. Doors open at 6:30 pm, music begins at 7:00 pm. Grainne and her musical partner Brendan will be coming from their native Ireland for a US tour, and our home is their only PA stop. We're looking forward to an evening of soulful traditional Irish tunes, original songs, and perhaps some unique interpretations of well-loved covers. Gráinne Hunt is an extraordinary performer with a captivating voice and enchants audiences with her heart-melting vocals. She has shared stages with renowned musicians Glen Hansard and U2, and has opened for Mary Black, Declan O'Rourke, Eagle Eye Cherry, and Kane Brown among others. Notably, she had the honor of opening for Gladys Knight in Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre over four nights. Gráinne's powerful voice blends huskiness with vulnerability, making her a standout among Ireland's female vocalists and songwriters. Comparisons have been drawn to Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, and Dolores Keane. Her albums "Firing Pin" (2015) and "This Secret" (2019) delve into personal experiences, evoking pain, longing, and the complexities of relationships. Here's my favorite track from Firing Pin, Low Tides <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lir4KuzjGrs6O_irim-VTNwKP8I1R0Nl/view?usp=sharing> . Aside from her solo work, Gráinne collaborates with guitarist Brendan Walsh in the duo Gráinne and Brendan, exploring folk, classical, and traditional music. Here's a track from their 2019 album Songs From Ireland, their lovely interpretation of Song for Ireland. <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LIKyjxaU_4srpzR__cUHHaqhMQ-BLPmk/view?usp=sharing> Gráinne's folk duo Hibsen with Jim Murphy released an album of songs based on James Joyce's "Dubliners." Here's Eveline <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dmWTvh6TeV0PuLoZdPWKN2pS78Q6N02y/view?usp=sharing> . Finally, watch this video of Gráinne performing the captivating Breathe <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYHVZmo6E1Q&t=46s> as part of a shutdown-era concert. Gráinne with just her guitar shines, and even on the screen you feel Gráinne's charming and engaging stage presence. New to house concerts?
