If anyone has a hopeless seeming window screen that needs repair, try Salik Hardware on Homewood Ave. Farouk and his son saved an arch-shaped screen on my third floor that every window company I visited wanted $600 to replace. No exaggeration. Salik charged $10! And they fixed it fast. While you're waiting, the bakery across the street, Dana's, has delicious sweet potato pastries.
I just wanted to back-up Joy and say that Salik Hardware is the place to go if you need window re-screenings for the spring (or whenever it becomes warm enough). Every other place I called was either ridiculously expensive or wanted to keep the screens for weeks. Salik did it at something like $8 a screen (they charge by the size so it varies) and in a couple of hours. I did not get to try the pastries across the street, however. -rob On Wed, Mar 23, 2016 at 1:16 PM, Joy <manymanysheep@gmail.com> wrote:
