Hello! All interested parents are invited to join us with your children for our first playgroup. Our first playgroup is planned this coming weekend, Saturday January 19th at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Hampton (www.standrewspgh.org). The third Saturday of each month, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am, the upstairs chapel and nursery space is reserved for our group. Many thanks to BruceR, rector of St. Andrew's for allowing us to use this space! I am hoping our first meeting will also be a brainstorming session for a vision of where we can grow with the group. As I have shared in previous emails, the Chicago neighborhood from where we moved in June 2007, had a wonderful, diverse Parenting Support Network (PSN). This served as a resource for neighborhood parents, a network to welcome new neighbors with children and also to welcome current neighbors who become new parents. It grew over the years to include playgroups on weekdays and weekends to include groups of different ages. Leesa Phaneuf has already initiated the playgroup that is presently held during the weekdays. Hopefully our efforts and ideas combined as a community will grow to become a wealth of blessing to the parents of Highland Park. Looking forward to meeting you.
