The victim handed over cash and his Nike Air Jordans. One suspect punched the victim, then both suspects fled on foot. Both suspects were described as black males, 20-30, wearing black face masks and carrying black pistols. One suspect was 5'10," 150 Lbs, thin build. The other suspect was 6'1," 170 Lbs, thin build. (122871) *6/23/19 Stolen Vehicle - 1200 block Mohler Street, 11:23 PM. *Victim reported that she parked her 2005 silver Ford Taurus (PA plate KYP-9894) but accidentally left the keys in the trunk key hole. A short time later, she noticed that the car was gone. (123178) *6/24/19 Theft from Vehicle - 2300 block Wilner Drive. *Victim reported her wallet missing from her vehicle. No signs of forced entry. (123383) *6/25/19 Aggravated Assault (Shooting) - 7200 block Frankstown Avenue, 11:50 PM.* Officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification and arrived to find a 21 year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the left leg. PGH EMS transported the victim to UPMC Presbyterian in stable condition. The victim told officers that he had just exited a Port Authority bus and was talking to some friends, when he heard gunfire. The victim was struck and was able to run around the corner to safety, which is were officers found him. Several shell casings were collected from the scene. No suspect description was available. (124656) *6/26/19 Aggravated Assault - N. Homewood Avenue & Fuchsia Way, 1:45 AM. *Officers responded to a report of a male down in the street. They arrived to find 17 Engine on scene with a 52 year-old male victim. The victim appeared intoxicated and officers had a tough time trying to ascertain what transpired. It appears that the victim was assaulted as he was bleeding and a pool of blood and a bloody brick were found nearby. The male was taken to the hospital and detectives will follow-up once the victim is more coherent. (124712) *6/26/19 Aggravated Assault (Stabbing) - 2200 block East Hills Drive, 1:00 PM.* A 17 year-old male victim reported that he was visiting his sister at her apartment in East Hills. While there, he got into an argument with his sister's friend. When he turned around, he felt a sharp pain in his back. The victim initially thought he was punched, but soon realized that the female stabbed him with a kitchen knife. She then fled then scene. The victim was taken to Children's Hospital in stable condition. The victim's sister provided a possible name for her friend and detectives are following-up on that information. (124987) *6/26/19 Aggravated Assault (Stabbing) - 7200 block Frankstown Avenue, 1:22 PM.* Officers responded to a report of a male stabbed in front of Rosing's Bar. The 50 year-old male victim was stabbed approximately (5) times in the stomach and buttocks. The victim told officers that an unknown male bumped into him and words were exchanged. The male then pulled out a knife and began stabbing him, then fled into the woods towards Forest Way. The suspect was described as a black male, dark complexion, 30-40 years-old, 6'0" tall, medium build, wearing a white t-shirt and a white baseball cap. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition. (125014) *6/26/19 Shots Fired - 1200 block Mohler Street, 11:56 PM. *Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and arrived to find a choatic scene, with several people in the street yelling. Officers noted that one vehicle appeared to have sustained bullet damage, however, there were no reported injuries. A .40 caliber shell casing was recovered from the scene. Officers were unable to obtain any information from witnesses. (125467) *6/27/19 Burglary - 2300 block Park Hill Drive. *Victim reported that someone stole her Sony Playstation 4 from her residence while she was incarcerated. (127256) *6/28/19 Robbery - 1000 block Blackadore Street, 1:26 PM.* A 31 year-old male victim reported that he was attacked by his girlfriend following a verbal argument. The victim stated that *Shahara Monae Knapp, 27, of Homewood,* attacked him by striking him in the face with a cell phone, then stole his phone and his state ID. Officers observed facial injuries. A warrant will be obtained for Knapp. (126622) *6/30/19 Theft from Vehicle - 6900 block Bennett Street, 6:58 PM. *A victim reported that she just witnessed an unknown individual reach into her car and steal her wallet from the center console. By the time the victim made it outside, the suspect was running down the street. He is a black male, light complexion, 25-30 years-old, 6'0," medium build, wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts. (128343) *Larimer / Lincoln-Lemington* *6/26/19 Theft from Vehicle - 1200 block Hyatt Street.* Victim reported that her front driver's side window was shattered overnight and her pocketbook was stolen from her vehicle. (124858) *6/28/19 Aggravated Assault - 7000 block Lemington Avenue, 11:20 PM. *Officers were called to a child custody dispute and arrived to find a 26 year-old male victim at the scene. The male reported that his ex-girlfriend, *Essence Monay Finn, 24, of Lincoln-Lemington,* refused to give him their 1 year-old child, despite the custody agreement that was in place. When the victim eventually took the child and began loading him into his car, Finn followed and began to assault the victim. Officers on scene observed Finn to be extremely agitated and argumentative. She then attempted to get into the victim's car and assault him again, while officers were present. Officers were forced to restrain her, at which point Finn began to kick and punch officers in an attempt to break loose. She was taken to the ground where she was handcuffed but then slipped out of her cuffs and continued to assault the officers. Officers were eventually able to get her back into handcuffs. Finn was taken to UPMC Mercy to be medically cleared and will be arrested once she is released. (127033) *6/29/19 Burglary - 1400 block Oberlin Street, 1:28 PM. *Officers responded to the Chadwick Rec Center for a burglary-in-progress. Officers arrived to find an open rear door. When they entered the building to check for burglars, officers found fresh black spray paint on the walls. No signs of forced entry. An anonymous caller reported that the burglars were 13 year-old kids. (127647) *Bloomfield / Garfield / Friendship* *6/27/19 Attempted Burglary - 709 N. Aiken Avenue (The Neighborhood Academy). *School staff reported that somebody broke a window to the school's garage. There did not appear to be anything missing. (125625) *East Liberty / Highland Park* *6/29/19 Overdose - 600 block Collins Avenue, 3:03 PM. *A 27 year-old female was found by her boyfriend after he repeatedly attempted to make contact with her while he was at work. The boyfriend eventually went to her house and found her unresponsive from a heroin overdose. EMS was called and paramedics administered (2) doses of Narcan, reviving the female. She was taken to UPMC Shadyside for further treatment. (127467) *Morningside / Stanton Heights / Waterworks* *6/24/19 Carjacking - 5400 block Penn Avenue, 3:34 PM.* A 21 year-old male reported that he went to a house in the 900 block of Millerdale Street in Stanton Heights to pick-up a friend's younger brother,* John Malcolm Smith, 19, of Stanton Heights, *and take him on an errand. The victim reported that his legally-owned Glock pistol was in his door pocket. While traveling along Penn Avenue in Garfield, Smith reached over the victim, grabbed the Glock, and pointed it at him. Smith instructed the victim to pull over, at which point he made the victim exit the vehicle (a red Kia Sportage), and fled with the victim's gun and car. The vehicle was recovered later in the afternoon in the 2700 block of Bedford Avenue in the Hill District. It was unoccupied. Officers will obtain an arrest warrant for John Malcolm Smith. This incident is likely related to entry below. (123617) *6/24/19 Shots Fired - 100 block Schenley Manor Drive, 3:50 PM. *Officers responded to a report of shots fired and met with a resident on Schenley Manor Drive, who indicated that he just heard (6) gunshots. When the witness looked out the window, he observed a black male running to a red Kia Sportage and flee at a high rate of speed. Several shell casings were recovered from the street. This incident is likely connected to two other incidents on this same date. (123625) *6/26/19 Theft from Vehicle - 1400 block Jancey Street.* Victim returned to his vehicle in the morning to find the passenger window down and the contents of the glove compartment scattered about the vehicle. (124880) *6/26/19 Stolen Vehicle - 1400 block Chislett Street.* Victim reported that her 2007 gray Honda Civic coupe (PA plate JSS-1038) was stolen overnight. (124983) *6/26/19 Theft from Vehicle - 1600 block Jancey Street.* An iPhone charger and a pair of headphones was stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight. (128116) Crimes listed in the above report include: Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Burglary, Arson, Stolen Cars, Thefts from Vehicle, and Overdoses. *We do not list information for car accidents, retail theft, harassment, minor assaults, etc. * *This Week's Notable Arrests* *6/27/19 5:30 PM 100 blck Crestline Place Arrestee: Jermiah Asantea Evans, 20, of Larimer Summary:* Plainclothes officers were patrolling East Hills and conducted a traffic stop on a 1999 Mazda sedan for vehicle code violations. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers could smell the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The occupants were asked to step from the vehicle. When they did, officers conducted a search and felt a gun in Evans' waistband. The firearm was recovered and found to be a Taurus .357 Magnum. A check of the serial number showed that the firearm was reported stolen out of Greensburg, PA. Evans was arrested without incident.
