It will be a straightforward masonry restoration to the Highland Park Pedestrian Tunnel with necessary improvements to the street and stormwater infrastructure that surrounds it; DPW intends to preserve the historic character of this structure for future generations. - *Meet Marlana Adele Vassar*, a Highland Park-based artist and University of Pittsburgh alum who is one of two artists selected to create a new installation in Highland Park. Largely self-taught as an artist, Vassar's philosophy of balancing style and substance has attracted a diverse audience to her work. She weaves symbolism, surrealism and rich storytelling into figures and patterns, resulting in works that are personal yet open to interpretation. She will be coming to share her art and begin collecting input from the community as she begins to design the new piece for the park.
