In need of host families for October exchange
Amizade Global Service-Learning <https://amizade.org/>is still seeking Pittsburgh families to host high school students and adult mentors from Bolivia and Peru from October 2-14. The students are engaging in a Youth Ambassadors Program where they will be learning about community service, leadership, social entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability. While they will be learning a lot during their scheduled activities with Amizade, the host family stay provides a unique window into American/Pittsburgh culture and is one of the highlights of the program for the students. Here are some key details about the program: - The hosting dates are Oct. 2-14, 2015. - Host families are asked to provide breakfast and most dinners for their guest(s). - Students/mentors will have scheduled activities for most days, but host families will get two free days (Saturday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct 11) to spend with their guests. - The students and adults will speak English. The application and more detailed information about the host family role can be found at this link: https://amizade.org/yapsa/host/ If you have any questions about hosting, please contact Julia Smucker at julia.smucker@amizade.org or 412-586-4986.
