Friendly HPGC June Program Reminder: Creating Gorgeous Floral Bouquets
Dear Friends, just a friendly reminder that the June 8th deadline for the floral arranging class is coming up soon. The original announcement, including the registration link is repeated below. In the event of rain, the Choders have graciously offered to host the class in the pool house at Choderwood. Hope to see you there, and happy holiday wishes to all! Original Notice: Dear neighbors and fellow gardeners - gardens look so lovely at this time of year - there are flowers everywhere! If you'd like some pointers from a local professional on how to best show off your cut flowers, please come to June's Cut Flower Growing and Arranging Class, with Lahia Annis-Christy of Burghblooms, a micro urban flower farm in Larimer that offers spring and summer floral subscriptions. The class will begin at 10am on Saturday, June 18 at Burghblooms, 530 Lincoln Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 (rain venue: the poolhouse at Choderwood!). Lahia will provide flowers and a vase for each participant, and will demonstrate how to create gorgeous bouquets. There is a $40 materials fee for the class. Space is limited, and the registration deadline is June 8th. You can register for the class and pay for the materials fee through Eventbrite by clicking here. After visiting a “u-pick” flower field and arranging flowers for her daughter's first birthday, Lahia decided she wanted to make flowers a more central part of her life. Since then, she has been working to cultivate the vacant lot next to her house and transform it into a beautiful and productive flower farm.
