RE: [Highland Park] Odd Occurrence - Looking for Russian Speaking People
I had a very similar situation happen at my house, except it was a younger man and middle aged woman who came to the door. They were very well dressed and looked as though they had just come from church. It did not alarm me until I saw Janna's post. I have since notified the police so they are aware of the pattern. If this happens to anyone else in the neighborhood, please call 911 and report it. I am not sure what they are up to, but prefer to error on the side of caution. When I answered, one of them said they were in the area looking for Russian-speaking people. I said I didn't know of any. They thanked me politely, went across the street and got into a minivan in which several other people were sitting. After a few minutes they drove away. I have no idea whether they rang any other doorbells on my block. This definitely strikes me as odd. Does anyone know anything about this? There have to be more efficient ways of finding Russian speakers than ringing random doorbells. But frankly I doubt that's what they were looking for. Janna Eversmeyer North Euclid Avenue
