[Highland Park] East Liberty Post Office
I hear a lot of complaints about the service at the E.L. Post Office. The main issue seems to be that there is only one window open for the many people in line. When the line is to the inner door with probably a dozen people waiting, the service, while pleasant when you finally reach the window, is just too slow. One does not experience this in Bloomfield or on Freeport Rd; two notably better post offices. Even more frustrating in E.L. is that occasionally another worker walks through, does not acknowledge the people waiting and disappears without helping or summoning others to help. I know that many arriving customers see the long lines and angrily go elsewhere or return at a later time which is an extremely frustrating waste of time and energy. I would be interested in hearing the experiences of others so that we can make those in charge aware of the inconvenience. Perhaps the Highland Park Club can send a letter to higher authorities and/or our city representatives can get involved or the Post Gazette can make the situation known. I do not think that this can be blamed on "cut-backs" as it has been the case since I came to the area 20 yrs. ago and other P.O.'s seem to be able to give good service. Please send your comments to me or the HP site so that something can be done. Considering the number of potential customers, our neighborhood should have a good, efficient reliable post office.
