invasive pulling, Sat April 25, corner
Hi all - with things starting to grow and bloom, some invasive weeds* are having growth spurts also. For anyone who's interested, I'm going to identify and pull Garlic Mustard in the woods of Kings Estate this Saturday morning. Garlic Mustard is on the top of the national list of most invasive weeds, and is tops on many state lists also. Anyone interested, I'll be near the corner of Elgin and N Negley, at 9:30am, this Sat, April 25. I can show how to tell a Garlic Mustard, and can explain the life cycle and protocols for removal. It would be nice to have company. If you come, bring gloves if you want, and a bag for collection. Garlic mustard is edible and can make a nice pesto if you want to (just substitute for basil leaves). best, Gina *(Invasive weeds are non-native aggressive plants that displace local native plants; this disrupts food chains for butterflies, birds, ....)
