In light of the new policy of being emailed our mailing list credentials monthly I just wanted to provide a quick PSA on password security. Please note that these credentials are being sent in "clear text", meaning that if the communication is intercepted your credentials are easily stolen as they are not encrypted (unless you're the type of person who's encrypting all email communication). This isn't the end of the world if your mailing list password isn't shared with other accounts you own, but if it is I highly suggest changing your mailing list password to something unique. While it's convenient to use one (or a small set) of passwords across all your online accounts, this is certainly not a best practice. If one of your passwords is stolen it's common practice for these thieves to attempt to use it in other places hoping that they can gain access to even more. You can also choose to opt-out of this monthly email through the "Get password reminder email for this list?" option when logging in to your mail list account. There are lots of ways to manage all your passwords, and I personally enjoy LastPass. But there are TONS of other options available for Windows, Macs, and Linux machines to better manage your sensitive data. The more you know... -- Ian
