Hoosier-style cabinet for sale
We're parting with a kitchen cabinet by the Keystone Cabinet Company of Littlestown, PA. Not sure of the year of manufacture: the company began in 1921 and this piece was acquired by my relatives sometime after 1941. Dimensions are 69 1/2" H, 39 1/2" W and 22 1/2" D. The enameled metal countertop slides forward to increase the depth to 30 1/2 inches and make a sturdy work surface that's 32 inches high. The deep center drawers are metal, possibly originally intended to store bread or flour. The top of the cabinet comes off for easier moving. This piece has been in our kitchen for the last 20 years but we've also used it as a secretary in the living room with the counter extended. It would make a nifty bar, too, since the cupboards have plenty of room for wine bottles and glasses, the drawers could hold bar tools and the counter is handy for serving. I suspect the cabinet might have been cream originally with a round mirror on the outside of the center door. The handles are original and in good condition. Definitely a shabby chic piece but charming in the right space and very functional. We've loved it for more than 25 years, but it's time to downsize. $200 OBO, available for pickup in Highland Park
