[Highland Park] Keep Animals Off Drugs! kick-off meeting in East Liberty
Hi all, This wednesday Food and Water Watch will be kicking off a campaign to protect public health and stop the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria ("superbugs") at the East Liberty branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. We invite you to join us! Kick-Off Meeting for Keep Animals off Drugs! September 18th 6:30pm [https://docs.google.com/a/learysweetnam.com/forms/d/1Xz3LPAIhhGOeZhaC2URjwd0...] RSVP HERE! East Liberty Library Branch Room 3A 130 S Whitfield St Factory farms across the country give animals antibiotics to make them grow faster, leading to the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria that threaten the effectiveness of drugs we rely on to save lives. Right now we have a unique opportunity to end this abuse because of the PARA bill, which was just introduced to the senate. It could end factory-farm misuse of these life-saving drugs. We need Senator Casey to co-sponsor this legislation and protect public health. So please join us this Wednesday to find out more about the campaign and what you can do to help stop the spread of superbugs. With your support, we can stop factory farms from compromising the antibiotics we depend on! Best, Aine
